WHAT IS A SHUGG WINDOW?
The Shugg Window is a Sashless window normally available in 4 forms, the most popular of which is the 2-pane Double Hung Window. The
The Shugg "Sashless Double Hung" Window is a counter balanced design incorporating an upper and lower pane with a nominal 80-100mm overlap at the centre. The window is operated by acrylic lifter blocks bonded to the lower pane, which when raised, permits the upper pane to open an equal distance.
In its second form, the Shugg "Sashless Servery" Window ( Single Pane opening), the opening pane is counterbalanced by weights housed in aluminium "box" type sections. The centre ovelap in this form may be reduced to 50mm for ease of cleaning and maintenance. This form of Shugg Window permit nearly 50% of the overall window height to be available in a single opening, making it ideal to serve food or drinks or for ensuring adequate safe height from floor level when in a hazardous area or above ground floor level.
In its 3 pane form , the Shugg Window is still a Balanced Double Hung Window but with the addition of a fixed bottom , middle or top pane. This allows the operable part of the Shugg "Sashless" Window to be limited to specific areas within the individual window. This is also the same with 3 pane servery windows.
In the 4 pane form, the Shugg Window has top and bottom fixed panes, with counterbalanced lower middle and upper middle panes. When the lower middle pane is pushed downwards, the upper middle pane rises, opening up the middle portion of the window.
The option of timber or aluminium guides is enhanced by a variety of timber or aluminium frames into which the Shugg Window can be installed. In addition installation to doors, provides non projecting ventilation with the door closed.
